Happy 70th Birthday Costa Cruises

What do you know about Costa?  Did you know that 2018 is their 70th Birthday… Congratulations 🙂

Costa Cruises are an Italian based Cruise line. Their Italian elegance is reflected in their cosmopolitan style. Costa Cruises offer a range of destinations and personally, I think they are now massively overlooked by the British market and this is mainly because people do not know enough about them, or only focus on the past reputation, therefore they are not willing to give them a try.

They offer a wide range of ships, the number of ships in the Costa fleet will increase to 17 in 2021, compared with the current 14.

In 2019, they will operate in the Mediterranean, Asia and weekly cruises from the port of Genoa.

An exciting summer season for them starting next year when they will offer 7-night cruises that focus on the beaches and entertainment of the Balearic Islands.

Costa Cruises has invested millions of pounds in renovation work and along with the new ships on order they are looking like a great option to try in the future.

Of course, if you looking for an all singing all dancing Americanised mega ship, Costa will not be for you.  But even though I am a fan of the bigger ships I would definitely like to give Costa a try. I have been on MSC twice and loved it. Costa will be much the same in that they cater for the Italian market but It makes a nice change to have a mix of nationalities on board and the Italian elegance will shine through. Yes there may be announcements in a few languages and the decor will be a little louder but all of the crew will be English speaking and the service will be great.

Another fantastic point about Costa Cruises is the cruise fares. The value for money is fantastic. I have some regular guests that travel on Costa and they book Suites, which can still be a fraction of the cost when we compare to the mainstream brands of a cruise. Also not forgetting they have great deals for solo travellers too.
