There have been so many changes over that time I started with Going Places which are no longer in the high street one of our competitors  was Lunn Poly. Both companies still operator however under different names.

Times have changed so much back then we issued paper air tickets now they no longer exist it’s all e-ticketing. We sat for hours in a queue to speak to someone to book now most things can be done online. The tour operators provided tickets,  luggage labels and cruise lines provided lovely plush ticket wallets.

The queues at this time of year were huge waiting in line patiently to be served. Now people prefer to book form the comfort of their armchairs either using online booking systems or over the phone. They like the fact they can book when it’s convenient for them, so companies have had to change to suit the customer’s needs. Customers like to come home from work and book on an evening or weekend when it suits them. Evening and weekend opening hours are more common than the typical 9-5.

The world is also more accessible and affordable to many people. Today’s traveller is wanting something more bespoke, so the traditional package holiday does no longer suit everyone.
