Christmas Conference…

Well with Christmas over and New Year approaching  I thought I’d let you know about our Christmas conference on Marco Polo to Dublin.

We boarded the ship on Sunday it was an early sailing departing at 1230. We headed straight for breakfast in the main dining room. We then had the muster drill so donning the life jackets we headed to our station then we were lead to our lifeboat. Its a strange muster drill with Cruise & Maritime with everyone in single file and your hand on the person’s shoulder in front of you to the lifeboats. With that over, we headed to lunch yet more food…
After lunch, we headed to the theatre where our conference was to be held over the next three days.  We had all the main cruise operators on onboard.  We had quizzes game shows and lots of tour operators gave away fantastic prizes including an amazing cruise to Singapore. These sessions give the operators the opportunity to let us know all about the new sailings ships and lots of other exciting information such as offers they may have.
That evening was our fancy dress evening and there were some amazing costumes the theme was from the film so it gave lots of scope for people to use there imagination. We had everything from Mary Poppins to Princess Fiona from Shrek and even the Jamaican Bobsleigh team from Cool Runnings.
The following day we had a morning conference then free time in Dublin with options of doing your own thing the Guinness factory tour or the hop on hop of bus. I opted for the Guinness factory tour and will tell you about that next time. Following our free time we had a bar with a designated floor with drinks and food in temple bar, so a good night was had by all.
Day three we sailed from Dublin around 11.00 we were in the conference all day. The fun began not long into the sailing the sea was not kind and the ship was getting thrown around in the Irish sea. The highlight of the day was the guest speaker “Claire Lomas” such an inspirational lady and makes you realise you should not take anything for granted and you can achieve your goals if you put your mind to it. Thank you, Claire. The evening saw a lot of our company in bed due to the motion and suffering from seasickness. Thankfully I did not suffer.
Thank you to cruise.co for putting on an amazing conference. Watch out for my next blog on the Guinness factory.
Best wishes to you all for 2019
Lauren
