Cabin Types , which is best for you ???

I have now been in several different cabins types ,But which is best for you ???

I have to say having cruised in a balcony cabin on Anthem of the Seas , Britannia : Balcony, Fred Olsen outside with full window (not port hole) and Princess with inside cabin. I fine it quite hard to judge. I think the best thing is to tell you a little about each type and then see what you think.

First of all for those trying to get a bit of luxury but not too pricey then the balcony cabin with the sofa is fab, or they may say the superior cabins on some ships, deluxe on others.

This is a a picture of our balcony cabin on Britannia, there was loads of space, the wardrobe space is just after the bathroom and open plan so loads of hanging space for your beautiful dresses. my husband likes the balcony as he likes to watch us coming into and out of ports, and on the Fjord cruise was invaluable. However when we did the Northern Spain and France cruise, I felt it was a waste of money as we went to most sail away parties and did not spend much time on the balcony.

our cabin.

in my honest opinion, If you like daylight into your cabin then this would be the choice for you. Some of the cabins have bigger windows than others, as they range from porthole to panoramic , depending on position on the ship. (when we quote all those different grade cabins on an outside it is usually to do with window size or position on the ship).

The Inside cabins are surprisingly airy, I never felt claustrophobic, or unwell due to being in an inside, in fact a lot of them seem to have more room. (especially if twin beds, as they separate the beds and you have all the space in between.) Again there are different grades of cabin in an inside, this is usually to do with were on ship (forward,Aft or mid ship.)  There can be as many as 8-10 choices of inside cabin and on some of the big ships, quantum class with Royal Caribbean for instance, they even have virtual cabins. These look amazing.

This was one on Anthem , whilst I was having a look round.

The virtual cabins have a big window like screen that shows what ever the ships camera sees at the front of the ship. handy if you want to know the weather before you dress for the day. And also make the cabin seem more open.

I also found most ships have the web cam on the tv, again this helps with checking on the weather in an inside cabin.

It is definitely a question of what you think is best, sometimes I know the cabin choice is down to money and I honestly believe if it means I have to do an inside cabin to afford the cruise then inside it is !!!

What do you think?
