$115 million modernization for this ship

Royal Caribbean has announced a $115 million modernisation for Navigator of the Seas, with a lineup of firsts and Royal Caribbean favourites, including an awe-inspiring Caribbean poolscape, waterslides, the first blow dry bar at sea, nightlife and dining, and thrilling activities for the whole family.

I have had fantastic feedback about the Independence Of The Seas recent modernisation so this is great news for the Navigator. The refurb will commence early 2019 with a planned return of the 24th February 2019 from Miami offering 3-4 night Caribbean sailing. From the Beginning of May 2019, The Navigator will offer short Caribbean itineraries that will visit Royal Caribbeans private island in The Bahamas, Perfect Day at CocoCay. New attractions and experiences at Perfect Day at CocoCay will open in phases, with the full completion planned for December 2019. Below opening dates.
• The new pier will begin welcoming guests to the island in January 2019
• Thrill Waterpark, the Zip Line, Splashaway Bay aqua park, Up, Up and Away helium balloon, Captain Jack’s Galleon,
Skipper’s Grill dining, Captain Jack’s dining, Chill Island, Chill Grill dining, and Oasis Lagoon freshwater pool will
open in May 2019.
• South Beach, Coco Beach Club and the overwater cabanas will open in December 2019.
Please note that these dates might be subject to change depending on the progress of construction.

So what does this modernisation and firsts for Royal mean for the Navigator ??

Royal Caribbean has decided to completely reimagine the Navigators pool area, with a Caribbean feel.  The standout resort-style deck takes on a new look with more pool for everyone – even a Splash Pad for your little tots. The Navigator will get two new waterslides that have never been offered on any other ship. the first new slide will be named The Blaster, Royal Caribbeans first-ever aqua coaster and the longest waterslide at sea will offer a two-person raft that will propel them through more than 800 feet of hills, drops and straightaways, which includes extending over the side of the ship !!!

The second slide will be named Riptide, you will plunge down a headfirst mat racer through a translucent tube with oceanview – will you be brave enough ???

Royal will also introduce a brand new two-level signature bar, Lime and Coconut, which will serve cocktails and guests can enjoy live music until the wee hours.

Fancy a blow dry & a drink before your evening ?? why not try the first standalone blow dry bar at sea, To Dry For will offer blowouts, hairstyling and polish changes, plus a selection of wines and champagnes.
