Tattoo At Sea Anyone ??

Are you an Ink freak? Do you ever go on your holidays and just randomly get a Tattoo (my husband does). Well, now you can go on a cruise and get a Tattoo !!! Virgin Voyages has recently announced that when their inaugural ship the Scarlette lady which sets sail in 2020, will offer passengers the opportunity to get inked on board the world’s first cruise ship tattoo parlour. Tom McAlpin, president and CEO of Virgin Voyages, said. “Our sailors(that’s what they will be calling their customers) are looking to make lifelong memories, and we think there’s no better way to commemorate their first voyage with us than with a souvenir they’ll never lose track of.”

When Virgin Voyages Scarlet Lady sets sail in 2020, she will have two full-time resident tattoo artists on board, handpicked by ink industry legend Lou Rubino Jr, the visionary behind World Famous Tattoo Ink, Soho Ink and Freshly Inked Magazine.

The crazy thing is that these days if you are in a customer facing job any tattoos that you have normally must be covered up. virgin are ending this and will actually encourage its crew members to also express themselves freely through tattoos if they wish. In a unique move for the cruise industry, the company has indicated that the hiring of shipboard candidates with visible tattoos is absolutely fine.

The first of three new ships, Scarlet Lady will be followed by two other “Lady Ships” in 2021 and 2022. Virgin Voyages will be an adult only experience and will set sail from Miami & around the Caribbean. The ships will mimic the design of a yacht. Wellbeing is at the forefront of the onboard experience, and guests will be able to take part in fitness classes as well as making the most of the relaxation spaces.

Keep your eyes peeled as I will be communicating important news about Virgin Voyages in the future.
