Dublin Voted best City in Europe

temple bar

Wow; I am back from our annual conference onboard the Fred Olsen Boudica ship. The hospitality and service onboard were excellent and it provided me with a chance to meet up with all of my colleagues from all over the country and see what exciting things the cruise industry has in store for you in 2017 and beyond.

We Had an equal measure of work and play and got to enjoy the fab restaurants and bars on board the ship in the evenings where I must say the entertainment was second to none.

The ship sailed from Liverpool where we were fortunate enough to stay the night before and see what investment the European City of Culture had to offer us. There seemed to be plenty to do there and I can imagine it would be a city i would revisit to spend a little more time.

Our Ship docked in a Sunny Dublin on Saturday 17th December and I was immediately impressed by the dock and the facilities. just 10 minutes into town Center I could not believe the buzzing atmosphere. The sound of a variety of music and the amount of people cramming in Christmas shopping.

Dublin is a place for everyone shoppers, musicians, drinkers and fine cuisine experts. We stumbled into my favorite part of the City. Temple Bar, This had some of the best Craic that Ireland had to offer. world class musicians and fine beers and Ales. Most importantly you cant put a price on atmosphere  and this place gave us one of the best days we have had anywhere in Europe.

There were people singing, dancing and stamping their feet. There were even people in Christmas fancy dress having a dance off. I remembered I was looking for the best bar in town and someone said don’t go there is a lot more expensive but do you know what I am pleased the drinks cost a little more as it paid for the entertainers and created an atmosphere I cant imagine could be replicated.

So from someone who loves travel and have seen a number of cities in Europe Dublin gets my vote as my best city visit so far.
