The Big Christmas Countdown

 xmas

Every year as we’re tidying up the discarded wrapping paper and clearing away all the little ones new toys in to their new homes we find ourselves repeating the same phrase as the year before…”It’ll soon be round again” and sure enough, here we are. Just 18 days left to go until Santa has wriggled down the chimney to pop the pressies under the tree.

Iv never been a huge Christmas fan until I had my first child and then it became a magical day which we greatly look forward to, even if it is expensive! I cant count the times Iv been asked if we could put the decorations so I finally gave in and got them out on the 1st of December. Christmas shopping is finished, the Tesco shop is ordered so all that is left to do is wrap the gifts and wait for the day to arrive.

While most of us are now concentrating on the big day, rushing around buying presents and stocking up on treats for the festive season there are some savvy holiday makers making the most of the big discounts and getting their travel plans sorted before the January madness begins. Its always been well known that January is the time to buy, whether that be electrical items, clothes or holidays. With Christmas and New Year out of the way its almost as if we’re on a seasonal come down and the only lift we need is some retail therapy.

Whilst it is true that January is a great time for snagging bargain holiday deals, the quiet lull in December is also a great time to get your next cruise or holiday booked. The quiet time of year for the cruise lines and tour operators forces them to discount heavily to encourage sales so if you are holding out until the new year have a think about getting booked now and take advantage of the Christmas down time deals. You wont be sorry.
