There is no doubt that Black Friday over the last few years has become quite a big thing in the UK having adopted the USA’s post Thanks Giving tradition where prices are slashed from midnight of the last Friday in November. I have always waited patiently each year to get a big saving on my much loved Ugg boots, a little winter treat just for me and Black Friday usually makes the purchase feel a little less naughty securing me my boots with up to 50% off the full price tag which always leaves me feeling a little smug with myself!!

This year however Black Friday has left a sour taste in my mouth so far. A few weeks ago I purchased an iPad for my daughter, or should I say I did Santa a favour and bought it for him as he’s far too busy at the moment….Anyway, I purchased said iPad on offer for £229.99 from a well known retailer – with a saving of £20 at the time. I figured Id keep a look out and if I found it cheaper on Black Friday I would return the first and re-order. Could you imagine my surprise when I get an email from the very same retailer I purchased said iPad from, inviting me to take a look at their amazing, shockingly fantastical Black Friday MEGA deals only to find that the VERY SAME iPad I purchased just 12 days ago is not the same price I paid, not less than what I paid…. but MORE than I paid. Yes, you hear me right. Black Friday madness would have left my pocket £10 worse off!!!!

Ok so its £10, its not a bank breaker. But my point is that Black Friday is meant to be for big discounts and savings, not to con people in to thinking they are getting a bargain when actually they’re not saving anything at all.

Well not all is lost folks. There may be some Black Friday naughtiness going on out there, but I can assure you that you will only find genuine deals here at Cruise.co.uk. We are very excited about our offers this weekend, available from 25th to 28th November and boy are there some good ones.
