Deck the Halls….Or Not!!

So its almost here, the big day we spend months shopping, planning and running around like lunatics for. Santa will be busy wrapping his presents, loading up the sleigh and shimmying down our chimneys…or using the magic key in our case as we have a log burner so I’m not sure how the big guy would work that one out!!

I finished helping Santa get all my little ones presents back in November thanks to the Argos 3 for 2 toy sale, the decorations have been up since the 2nd December and Tesco are delivering the food shop tomorrow so we are just about ready, all we need is some snow but judging by the forecast we have as much chance of snow for Christmas as I have finding a Ferrari on my drive on Christmas morning but I live in hope!!

Today is my last day in the office until the new year so I have spent alot of my day calling my clients who are due to travel over the next few weeks and also the ones who have just returned to find out how their holiday went. I spoke to a chap who had just returned from one of P&O’s Christmas Market cruises to Bruges. If you have ever been to Bruges at Christmas time you will know how beautifully decorated it is, the atmosphere is amazing and if that doesn’t get you in the Christmas spirit I’m not sure what would! Whilst my client had a lovely time, he was very surprised and disappointed to find that the ship itself wasn’t decked out for the festive season. When he questioned the staff about the lack of trees and tinsel he was told that they wouldn’t be decorating until the 17/18th December, ready for the clients boarding for Christmas.

I’m sure there must be a reason behind that, but I’ll be honest, I would have thought that they’d have had the decs out much earlier than that, especially as through November and December they run their ‘Festive Cruises’ programme. I can quite understand why my client was disappointed, having spend a magical day in Bruges only to return to a less than festive environment on the ship would be enough to dampen anyone’s spirits.

Have you been on a Festive cruise this winter and agree with my client? Or perhaps you sailed a different lin who had their decorations up already? Id love to hear from you.

For now, I shall sign off and see you all on the other side. Before I go, I would just like to wish all of my clients past, present a future a very Merry Christmas and best wishes for the coming new year.

Cheers xx
