Royal ditches Dynamic Dining Concept on Anthem?

Reports have come through overnight that Royal Caribbean will remove their new Dynamic Dining Concept and change it to Rotational Dining starting with Anthem Of the Seas. Rumour has it that this was announced yesterday on Freedom Of The Seas by Senior Vice President Vicki Freed, although no official confirmation has come from Royal. Apparently there was rapturous applause when it was announced Dynamic Dining was no more on Anthem. If true this will only be on Anthem and no plans to change on any other ship eg. Quantum, Oasis or Allure!

So what is Rotational Dining, well this has already been adopted by Disney and been very successful, if rumour’s are true, guests will dine at a different complimentary restaurant each night of their cruise based on a schedule they will receive. The same staff and guests at your table will then accompany you every evening.

I think the move may have come about due to some negative reviews on the Dynamic Dining concept on Quantum , as customers said they were facing long queues and some said poor service on board. I also think it will take the pressure off customers spending time at home booking the restaurants in advance in fear of not getting their choice of restaurant and time once on board.

I was on Quantum in November and personally enjoyed the Dynamic Dining Concept and although she was new I was really impressed with the restaurants , waiters and food on board.  Honestly though,  I think the Rotational Dining option is a great move and will find a huge positive response from guests who are used to the traditional main dining room of same guests and same staff at the dinner table each evening.
