OASIS OF THE SEAS OFFER ‘BACON BUTTIES’ TO SIGHTSEERS

If you are travelling to Southampton on Wednesday to see the arrival of the biggest ship ever to dock in Southampton, you may just get more than you bargained for. As well as an amazing photograph opportunity to see this 225,282 tonne mega ship you will also be able to sample some culinary delights Oasis style as the crew provide a British breakfast of Bacon Butties to all. Well Oasis is used to catering for over 6,000 guests so subject to availability providing complimentary tea, coffee and bacon sandwiches to crowds shouldn’t be too much of a problem, should it?

Make sure you get there early would be my top tip as she expects to arrive between 8.30 am and 10.00 am, we wouldn’t want you missing out on a Free Breakfast!! She will be due at City Cruise terminal by 10.00am.

So what can we expect from Oasis of the Seas after her makeover, well according to many rumors there are alot of changes to be expected on board, as many new lounges and bars have been removed to make way for the new restaurants that make way for the Dynamic dining concept. The removals include the popular Viking Crown Lounge, which hasn’t gone down too well with regular Oasis Class Fans, the Pinnacle Lounge and Pinnacle Chapel . In replacement there are 8 new restaurants including The American Icon Grill, the Grande, Silk, Sabor and The Boardwalk Dog house. Add to this some more retails shops and several new cabins and I think we will notice quite a difference.

For Loyal Royal Caribbean guests, not everyone is happy about the changes incorporating Dynamic Dining and still prefer the first or second sitting choices in the main dining room, but what are your thoughts?. Personally I like the concept, as a frequent customer on NCL where they operate a Freestyle Dining policy , I like the fact I can go and eat where I want and at what time I want , I don’t have to plan my day around dinner times in the evening which suits my lifestyle when on holiday.  I also notice that anytime dining is becoming more and more popular on many cruises as customers seem to be heading in the direction of having more freedom of choice at to what time they eat. That’s the great thing about cruising we all have our own personal opinion on what we like once on board and it is all about choice .

No doubt come Wednesday the media will be full of everything Oasis Style , so watch this space on everything new on Oasis, but in the meantime enjoy your Bacon Butties, take lots of photos and enjoy the atmosphere in Southampton on what will be truly a memorable occasion.

Holly xx
