GETTING MARRIED AT SEA

Yes I am pleased to say that my best friends are getting married and I am very very excited about the thought. In fact I couldn’t be happier for them. Now considering that they met each other on a cruise ship they have both unanimously decided that they would like nothing more than to say their vows at sea.

I have specialised in weddings at sea for many many years so how exciting is it that I will now be arranging my very own friends wedding and would like to share all the planning and preparations the ups and the downs (although I hope there wont be any downs) with you. They have decided that due to many commitments for next year 2015 will be the year for them.

Since British ships were allowed to hold weddings at sea there is now so much choice to choose from.

In October Cunard announced that it was registering all its ships in Bermuda to enable it to conduct weddings at sea.The same service is offered by other major cruise companies including Royal Caribbean, Princess and P & O.

Weddings at sea are not only popular for the romance of tying the knot on the ocean, but the ceremony can be considerably cheaper as well. According to research , the average bill for a wedding ashore, is about £20,000, cruise companies offer packages for as little as £800. While captains on foreign vessels are allowed to conduct marriage ceremonies, the formalities would have to be conducted by an official registrar. However no formal qualifications are required for the post of registrar , who are normally trained by a local authority.

For my friends though its all about the romance and saying their vows on a luxury liner in some one off romantic destination .

I will be updating my blog every few weeks to let you know how their plans are going .

Watch this space.
