The Amazing MSC Bellissima!

I have just got back off MSC’s brand new ship MSC Bellissima.  I was lucky enough to be on board the ship for an overnight stay in Southampton for a launch party.  I have only ever been on one other MSC ship before which was the launch of the MSC Poesia back in 2008.  The ship certainly had the wow factor once we stepped on board.  We had been allocated a balcony cabin on deck eight towards the front of the ship.

The cabin itself was a good layout and the bathroom was a really good size.  Plenty of storage space and also a nice big sofa.  We had a really good sized balcony however our balcony did have a metal balustrade so it wasn’t glass fronted.  Thus really wouldn’t be a problem and we thought it was fine.  After exploring the ship itself it gave me a bit of a feel of some of the Royal Caribbean ships.

The Galleria Bellissima central promenade was the main piece down the middle of the ship with lots of bars and restaurants and shops.  There was a very large LED dome which ran down the ceiling of the promenade and the screen would change throughout the day.  They also have a show every so often so you can look up and watch it over the huge screen.  There is a very large waterpark on there which from what we saw looked great and also the Sportsplex was a large area with a basketball court along with F1 simulators, arcade machines, a bowling alley and virtual arcade games.  The ship had a lovely outdoor pool and also a pool area with retractable roof.

The Marketplace buffet area was great and so much choice of food and the main dining rooms all had their own decor.  One night really wasn’t long enough to be able to see the ship in full but we did try and squeeze as much as possible in.  As we were there on a launch night MSC had Craig David on board to perform down the promenade.  This area was then a disco for everybody.  I was very impressed with this new ship and really want to try and go back on there for a longer duration.  MSC Bellissima is doing Mediterranean and then in the winter Dubai.
