My Amazing Trip On The Allure of the Seas – Jamaica & Cozumel!

Our second port of call was Jamaica, I have been to Jamaica previously on holiday so was really looking forwarding to visiting the island where I got engaged, Jamaica will always hold a special place in my heart and I couldn’t wait to go back. The Allure docks in Falmouth which is a new port purposely built to accommodate the Allure and Oasis of the seas and the port itself is very clean, plenty of shops to browse around, so if you didn’t want to take an excursion you could head off into the port have for a browse around the local shops. We booked onto the red stripe beach excursion, which is located around 15 minutes coach drive from the port. The beach itself is quite small but very beautiful, you have to hire sun loungers for a small fee. There is a bar serving drinks including the famous red stripe beer and also food including jerk chicken, hot dogs and burgers. The beach has entertainers and music so it can be noisy, I took part in the beach dancing, and they also had various games throughout the day. If you are after quiet and relaxation this probably isn’t the right excursion for you, but if you fancy a day on the beach with fun thrown in this is a great excursion!

Our final port of call was Cozumel, I have been to Mexico a number of times on land holidays and stayed across from the island of Cozumel whilst staying in Playa del Carmen where you can see the ships in the distance! There isn’t too much in the port vicinity and the main town area is a 3 miles away so you could walk this or get a taxi. once in the town you have shops and bars, including the famous Senor Frogs but this is it really, I’m not one for browsing shops whilst on holiday so this wasn’t really for me. I would definitely recommend booking a shore excursion instead , maybe one of the snorkelling trips is what I would book if I ever visit Cozumel again.

I loved everything about this cruise and really couldn’t fault the ship or the ports of call, Labadee and Jamaica were definitely my favourite and hopefully I will have the chance to go back one day!
