Virgin Voyages!!!! New Ships By Virgin

Founder and President of Virgin Group Sir Richard Branson (L) and burlesque artist Dita Von Teese appear with a Virgin Atlantic Airways 747-400 aircraft at McCarran International Airport June 15, 2010 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Branson is celebrating his British airline's 10th anniversary of flying between London and Las Vegas.

Well this time I thought I would tell you all about the three new ships that Richard Branson is developing “Virgin Voyages”.

Only Mr Branson could think of a name like Virgin Voyages!!!

These three unique boutique ships that are going to be built and launched within the next few years. Richard Branson has spoken to the media and said “The name cruise is pretty awful” and decided to call his brand “Virgin Voyages” and that passengers should be called “Sailors”. The ships will all be identical and weight 110,000 Tons (Roughly the same size as the P&O Ship the Azura) and carry 2,800 sailors ( 400 Less passengers then P&O). Virgin is hoping to attract customers that are looking for a smaller ship.

The hope is for the first sailing to sail from Miami in 2020 to the Caribbean offering 7 night itineraries to include Cuba. Virgin has a massive programme to the caribbean and is hoping to attract customers that have never cruised before, just like himself,  but that they like more of a boutique atmosphere.

Virgin Voyages will be the first major cruise line to adopt a new clean energy technology called Climeon Ocean that transforms waste heat from the ships engines into electricity for onboard use. This claims to give the ships a much smaller carbon footprint and eliminate 5,400 tons of carbon dioxide waste per year. With the whole world going crazy with recycling do you think this could be a hit? Protecting our children’s future recycling energy I think is a brilliant idea! Whats your thoughts? Do you think it maybe something that all cruise lines should develop?

So whats your views on Virgin Voyages? Do you want to be a sailor? Would you like to sail on with Virgin Voyages in 2020?

Let me know your thoughts and contact me if you want to experience being a sailor with Virgin Voyages.
