Costa Concordia

As if we haven’t already heard all the news and rumors about the trial of Capt Schettino in relation to the sinking of the Costa Concordia back in January 2012. However it has come to light in court that at the time of the ship hitting into the barrier rocks the Capt had his lover on deck in the Bridge!

Most people reading about this would think twice, as if this could have been one of the main reasons of the ship hitting the barrier. Local press have quoted “the captain may have been distracted by her presence, or even showing off”. Well if this was the case why was she even allowed onto the bridge in the first place. I’m pretty sure the staff and crew have strict protocals and policies they have to adhere to, right?

It was also reported that she did not even pay to be a guest on-board the ship, meaning that because she was the lover of the Capt, she got a free cruise. I know there has to be some perks to being the Capt of the ship.

Domnica Cemortan, the lover of the Capt reported that once hitting the barrier and realising the ship would need to be abandoned. He told her to save herself!. It is reported that the trial will take a lot of time to come to an end. Obviously taking into account all of the survivors who will need to give evidence as well as the crew. I don’t think this is looking to good for Capt Schettino.
