P&O and Cunard New 2014 Price Restructure

Have P&O and Cunard finally to come to their senses with the new premium select and early saver fares? For those of you who are not aware as of the 4th of November 2013 P&O and Cunard have restructured their pricing policies, making it more beneficial to book your cruise in advance allowing you reap the benefits.

However both cruise lines previously used the “Getaway” fares (Late fares) which gave you a leading price value with no benefits such as confirmed cabin numbers, on-board credit, free car parking or free transfers. Some customers are happy with this as it can be fairly cheaper. Now they have introduced the Premium Select and early saver fares, allowing you to experience the best of both! Booking early will give you the best benefits as well as reduced cruise fares.

I feel that by doing this it will entice more customers to book earlier rather then later leaving no disappointment. I know there are some customers out there that are absolutely happy to book last minute, however most cruise experienced customers prefer to book in advance so that they know exactly what they are getting and reaping the benefits.

Are we going back to the good old ways of trying to get passengers to book earlier rather then later? I hope so.
