Exciting Getaway

Over the last few weeks I have been checking deals based on the Norwegian Getaway maiden voyage departing from Southampton in January 2014. I can honestly say that this looks like such an amazing cruise liner for Norwegian Cruises, not that their other ships don’t. However this ship has got some real appeal to it. The informality and freedom on-board what I would class as their best ship to date.

Just how long does it take for a liner of this status to be built. Come to think of it does anyone really think about all the man power, hours and labour that goes into building these cruise liners?

How can all the different cruise companies try to out do each other, whether this be by the size, style or new ideas such as the North Star, a pod that extends up and over the ship for 360-degree views. The North Star will be the first pod over cruise idea and I think it would be a great experience. This will be based on-board the Quantum of the seas due to have its maiden voyage in November 2014.

There are some great ideas out there for cruise, however I do believe that Australian billionaire Clive Palmer is taking it one step to far. Rebuilding the Titanic like for like and naming it the Titanic 2 set to voyage in Spring 2017. Is that just wrong?

Each to their own for picking specific cruise lines and their ships, however are some cruise lines taking it to far, or would a sky diving simulator entice you to book that particular cruise, or even an inside “virtual balconies”, essentially floor-to-ceiling LCD TV screens linked to a camera mounted on the outside of the ship.

What will they think of next???
