A Great 2018, But What Happened To My Cruise?

As we say farewell to 2018 and welcome a new year I sit and reminisce about all the good things that happened last year.

As far as my travels went I enjoyed an amazing trip with work to beautiful Washington State, Seattle and Las Vegas. It was a fantastic trip visiting somewhere that wasn’t on my radar, but definitely is now. I could definitely become a resident of Seattle, although a few days in Vegas was probably as much as I could do in one go.

I had a trip to Southern Spain to my favourite little village Mijas Pueblo. I love this place. The pretty white-washed buildings, great little local restaurants & friendly people make this a special little corner of Spain. It was great to jump in our little Fiat 500 and explore the surrounding area. We went to Gibraltar, Malaga, Estepona and Marbella as well as exploring other little hilltop villages and seaside resorts.

There was then a long gap between May and November when I went on my annual relaxation holiday to Puerto Vallarta in Mexico. This area was also a revelation. It was very Mexican, very hot, really chilled out & just a great place to go for a holiday.

In between I had a few other things to do including a few days out, a trip to see one of my all-time favourite bands, A-ha in Blackpool which we had to make a weekend of and believe it or not we went off the beaten track & actually found places that were not as tacky as most Blackpool bars & restaurants. I also had a trip away to Uttoxeter to the races where in the there was another music event with The Lightening Seeds and Heaven 17. I had no luck on the horses, however found that Uttoxeter was a delightful little market town & I very much enjoyed my stay there.

As much as I looked back on these trips fondly, I then realised I hadn’t actually been on a cruise. This is the first year I can remember that I hadn’t set foot on a cruise ship and something I definitely need to rectify for 2019. As much as I love my land holidays I do get a yearning to cruise after a while, so I had better get myself sorted. There are so many offers on right now that it would be a good time to book.

So goodbye 2018 – it was a blast, but right now I’m off to grab myself a bargain cruise!
