The end is in sight!

So guys, for those of you not in the know, January is a ridiculously busy month for your humble travel agents with millions of people booking their holidays and cruises to help overcome any January blues and to basically have something to look forward to. We go from our most peaceful month of December, where everyone is frantically buying Christmas presents and ensuring the New Year is correctly catered for and organised, to flat out, sitting at your desk for 10+ hours finding and putting together trips to all corners of the world. I have lost count of how many breakfasts, lunches and dinners I have eaten at my desk, whilst frantically typing with one hand to just keep the workload at bay.

This year has been a little different for me though. I foolishly decided to start some DIY projects whilst not working and have redecorated my dining room and also given the kitchen a spruce up by painting all of the kitchen cupboards. While I don’t have the largest of kitchens, I was completely shocked at just how long it has taken me to give them 2 coats! I think it’s had a good 15 hours worth of my time so far, and I am still yet to find a protective coating that I like the look of.

Burning the candle at both ends at the start of 2019 is probably not my cleverest idea and maybe the decorating should have been done when I had 2 weeks off in December. Lesson learned.

The month is nearly at its end though, and hopefully, some sort of normality will resume. Although in this business you can just never tell what is around the corner!
