Phwoar!! She’s a Brit of alright!!

It would clearly not be right for me to blog on anything other than my time on P&O’s Britannia.

First impressions as we entered into the atrium was a definite wow moment, a very traditional feel with a modern twist. The 2nd thing that struck me was how the ship is not as wide as I expected, a very tall and slim ship.

So on embarkation we went on the hunt for food, which led us up to the 16th deck. The swimming pools are lovely, and were heated. The main buffet restaurant is expansive with an abundance of choice and even has a self service beer and wine station ( swipe your card and pour)

We then went to have a look at the cabin before meeting up with a few friends. The cabin was well appointed with tea & coffee making facilities, a large flat screen television, with on demand access to a load of newly released films. The shower room was very nice and well designed with a glass screen as opposed to a curtain. (well done P&O) The walk in wardrobe is a nice touch too.

Now onto the cabin negatives I’m afraid. If you have your beds in a twin configuration then leave the cat at home, because there’s no way you can swing it in there! We had to develop a give way system in order to get past the beds as there’s only enough space for 1 person at a time to walk past the foot of the bed. A bit on balcony advice here, avoid the top 3 decks as they are sheltered by a large over hang from the top deck. I can’t help but wonder why they haven’t built her to be the same width on each deck, making the cabins bigger and preventing the overhang.

I will blog about the food, drink, service, entertainment and kids club in my next blog as I don’t wish to bombard you in one go.

Overall, I loved the ship and I will definitely be going on Britannia again!!
