Anthem – The grand reveal

It wouldn’t be right for me to blog about anything else this week, than the eagerly anticipated ANTHEM OF THE SEAS!!

I don’t think many ships have rivalled the hype and expectation of Royal Caribbean’s latest offering, and I put this down to a number of different reasons.

1) The ship’s facilities and number of firsts at sea. I will let the pictures speak for themselves, but rollerskating, bumper-cars, skydiving and of course the North-Star have got everyone a little giddy at the knees.3

2) Technology on board; Literally everything on board can be booked via an iPad – from spa treatments to excursions, which surely means that with the falling average age of cruisers Royal Caribbean are placing themselves ahead of the curve. Genius.

The screens in 270 are the highest resolution on the planet, paired with the fact the are moved hydraulically in time to a routine is simply out of this world.

My firm favorite has to be the Bionic Bar. Tempted to get one of these in my kitchen!!

3) Celebrity endorsement; With Jamie Oliver having one of his famous restaurants on board, and telling of his love for the company was a great move again. Aiming at a younger crowd than other celebrity chefs that their competition have used. Again, Genius.

Along with Jamie, they also had Jason Bradbury of Gadget Show fame telling us all about the fantastic technology on board, and what makes this ship so special.

I have booked countless people their place on board the Anthem, and one thing is very consistent. They are booking it because it excites them, not because it’s convenient or cheap, but because they literally can’t wait to be wowed!!

I for 1, can’t blame them.
