A new addition ..

Well this week has been all and I mean all about the MSC’s brand new ship the ‘Bellissima ‘ and although she does look gorgeous I decided I would do my blog on something different as my invite had been lost in the post!!

I have been reading lots of great feedback from customers in different facebook groups about how great the formerly known as Thomson, Tui and more recently named Marella ships are as they are updating their fleet with new additions.

They are soon to have a 6th ship join then and their new addition is named ‘ Marella Explorer 2 ‘ which will be their first adults-only ship in the fleet. She has been in Cadiz in dry dock for a 8 week refurbishment in preparation for her launch in April. The Marella Explorer 2 was formely the Celebrity Century then more recently with Skysea in China. She holds 1,814- passengers and is 71-545 tonnes she has 14 decks with 907 cabins with about 40% of those being balcony cabins.

What can we expect from the new addition ?

Marella Explorer 2 will feature three brand-new venues A new clubhouse bar called The 19th Hole which will serve golf themed cocktails , golf buggy style seating and will also house 2 golf simulators. A elegant Prosecco and Champagne bar called Flutes where you can have your pre dinner drinks with a press for bubbles button on the tables. The Beach Cove that will take on a beach-barbecue theme.She will have overall 10 bars and 9 dinning venues so plenty to choose from.

The ship will have many of the same new features which launches with the the first explorer ship including a Champneys Spa and a number of brand new shows.There will be an open-air cinema on the pool deck for Movies by Moonlight screenings, plus bingo and quizzes which you traditionally expect on every ship.

Obviously as an adults only ship their shows had to be rethought and they have removed the shows that they didnt see suitable and implemented a couple of new ones.They have a one called ‘Revive ‘ which is a circus themed show a long the lines of Greatest showman maybe and with aerial acts etc and a ‘Lovestruck’ which has multiple story lines with a comical edge.

Marella Explorer 2 will be based at a new for Marella port of Naples with itineraries round the Med inclduing in Venice, Rome and Dubrovnik to name a few.
With regional flights , all inclusive , no tipping they offer a great all round package.
