Always working!

I absolutely love my job, I love talking cruise all day and finding the right ship, price and itinerary for my customers. Even on my days off I end up talking cruise.

When I have my days off I like to get out & about with family or friends. This weekend I had Saturday & Sunday off as my good friend from Lincolnshire came to stay with her 2 daughters who are 9 & 6.  They are beautiful and were very well behaved all weekend.

On Saturday evening we had a ‘onesie party’ where we all wore our onesie’s and had nibbles, played games on the Wii & watched Disney movies. We had a great time but I didn’t realise how unfit I was till we played ‘Disney Dance’ on the Wii – I was exhausted after 15 minutes so I think I really need to get fit again now.

On Sunday I took them to the Horse Show where I am on the committee as they wanted to see Kim’s horses and watch the show.  It was very windy so I had my work cut out as had to keep running to put the jumps back up when they had blown down. I’m no good at running as had a stress fractures years ago and have been advised to not put too much strain on it – whoops! I think I may have over done it this weekend then.

The girls really enjoyed watching the horses going round the course. Bounty who is Kim’s horse now has a bad leg so cannot compete at the moment so we didn’t get to see Kim ride – hopefully next time they come he will be fit and be able to take part so they can watch Kim take him round the course.  Minstral is one of our horses but we loan him out as Kim is too big to ride him now and the girls loved him. He is a stunning little pony and he did really well and won 2 of his classes. We have kept him as my dad bought him 14 years ago for Kim and as dad is no longer with us we just can’t part with him.

We also took Patch with us and the girls loved running around with him.  He loves attention so was in his element having 2 children who wanted to fuss him all the time.

I gave the girls a couple of horse teddies that used to be Kim’s, they loved them, we put them on the floor whilst we had dinner, Patch lay beside in the same pose and it was a case of ‘Spot the dog’ – the girls thought it was hilarious so I took a photo.

Whilst I was at the show the parents of the kids that take part in the show usually have a catch up & a chat, we talk about our jobs and what we’ve been up to. As I haven’t seen many of them since I started this job they were unaware of what I do now.  I always carry business cards in my handbag and I’m so glad I do as I gave a few out to the parents who are looking to do something different for a holiday. Some of them didn’t think a cruise would be for them so I explained about the different ships who have something to offer for everyone. Hopefully I’ll get a few sales.

In the afternoon we went for a ‘Carvery’ at our local to have dinner before they all went back home to Lincolnshire. Whilst in the pub I saw some customers I used to book in my last job, it was lovely to see them so we had a good chat too and I told them about what I was doing now.  Again I gave them my business card as the friends they were with like to cruise and they have friends & family who like to cruise so took a few to pass on.

I’ve had a lovely weekend apart from being up at 6.30 am on a Sunday with 2 excited little girls.

So it goes to show I am always working even when I’m out & about, I just can’t help myself talking about cruise as I am so passionate about it.

So why not give me a call on 0800 408 6108 or email me at [email protected] to book your next cruise.

I look forward to speaking to you and helping you find the perfect holiday.
