Well what a perfect weekend to get the Picnic hamper out. Unbelievably it was a bank holiday weekend and the sun was actually shining!!!!  I was a bit down hearted as I had to work on Saturday but luckily the sun stuck around for Sunday and my family and I decided to make the most of it.  We have one of the old school type wicker picnic hampers so with cheese cobs made and sausage rolls, pork pies, and Crips and goodies packed off we went to the local park where they were having a picnic in the park day.  The event was on all day and had lots of different activities and shows throughout the day including Seahorse racing , Dog shows , Face painting and a band to name a few.  We found the perfect spot and settled down with our picnic and blanket.  I have to say this is the best thing about summer to me eating outdoors with the sun blazing down on you and all your favourite nibbles to choose from.  It is the ultimate relaxation and really fun thing to do as a family and can not only be enjoyed down your local park but is also available on-board celebrity ships.  You can indulge in a luxurious relaxing day on the top deck featuring the grass lawn.

Up here you can choose from a themed Picnic Lunch basket from one of the restaurants, along with a la carte beverages, wine and cheeses.  Each picnic basket contains a complimentary fresh fruit plate , hand held fans , chilled towels , bottles of water and even comes with the use of an I pad.  Whilst enjoying your picnic you will be forgiven for thinking that you are out in the middle of the country with the smell and feel of fresh grass beneath your toes and you can also join in with a friendly game of croquet, putting or boules.  Also to set the mood and ambiance there are musical performances such as jazz bands, classical quartets or acapella.

  The Lawn club is also home to the Alcoves which comprise of Eight Cabana style areas that can accommodate you and three others between the hours of 9am and 9pm.  Each alcove is serviced by one attendant who will cater for all your needs whether it’s a simple top up or a bite to eat.  These can be found on the Celebrity Reflection and the Silhouette.  I think you will agree that having this unique Lawn club makes Celebrity a great option especially if you fancy something different which you have not experienced before.  Unfortunately for me I do not have a Celebrity cruise booked for this year so will have to make do with the local park but if I close my eyes and the sun is shining I can but dream of being at sea……….
