You can watch the event that took place earlier from the comfort of your own sofa by watching the stream below:

P&O Cruises marketing director Christopher Edgington said; “we invite the world to view and listen to the extraordinary celebration. By streaming the Britannia naming online, we invite our global audience to experience and share this historic event.”

The ceremony was streamed live at 11.30 and was hosted by Welsh actor and comedian, Rob Brydon. More than 1,500 esteemed guests including politicians, dignitaries, business leaders, travel industry executives as well as other British celebs were in attendance.

The Duke of Edinburgh also attended with the HM Queen. Other celebrities in attendance included Darcy Bussell CBE, (who is godmother to P&O’s Azura,) Tess Daly, former bond girl Fiona Fullerton, actress Anne Reid MBE and presenter Anneka Rice.

The hour long event gave guests attending and viewers at home the chance to see the Queen break an enormous bottle of bubbly (the equivalent of 20 bottles!) on the starboard side of the ship, as well as give a short speech.

Other entertainment at the ceremony included a performance from the Red Hot Chilli Pipers, who were the winners of BBC talent show When Will I Be Famous?
