Book Your Sunbed Now!

We have all been there. Find the holiday of your dreams but every morning you wake up early and rush to the pool to reserve your sun lounger for the day! Wo betide if you are late. How many times have you walked around the pool with your towels in your hand vainly looking – more times then I would care to tell you to be honest!

sunbeds

You can now say goodbye to these days. Recently a guy from London has come up with a “app” to reserve our sun beds in advance.  As long as you book weeks before your holiday this “app” will reserve your space by the pool. It even gives you a map of the pool area so you can see where the best spots are.  However if you want one of the most coveted spots be prepared to pay at least £400 – yes, you read it right!  Is a sun bed really worth all that money? Plus, how is it going to be enforced? Will your chosen sunbed have your name on it? What would  happen if you had paid £400.00 and someone else was on it?

Moving swiftly on from your sunbed, do you find you have difficulty watching the in flight entertainment?  Apparently this is one of the major “downsides” on a aircraft. Some very clever people from a aerospace firm in the states have designed a type of visor that will fold over your eyes which will display films and TV programmes in 3D or holographic video. The visor is attached to the headrest and this will also have noise cancelling earphones.

The outside surface of the visor could even be programmed to display messages for flight attendants or other travellers if the passenger is thirsty, hungry or doesn’t want to be disturbed, and even have some kind of motor that will allow passengers to rotate it without using your hands.

Of course the visor has yet to be approved and I am not sure if the sun bed app will work – although it has had its try out in Marbella! This shows once again how swiftly technology is moving on. Not so long ago we would have all laughed at the thought of a robot mixing you a drink, but it is reality now on some of the Royal Caribbean ships.

Would you want a visor so close to your eyes though? Not sure I would and as for the sun beds – well I certainly would not pay up to £400.00 would you?!!
