Isle of wight festival – The best bits

Well it goes without saying we have just come back from another memorable festival at the ‘Isle of wight’. The line-up was not quite as good as previous years but the company was fantastic.

We managed to persuade a few work colleagues to join us this year and it’s safe to say a great time was had by all.

Thursday -Camping trolley wheels exploded in blazing heat whilst in the queue carrying everybody’s tents, rucksacks but most importantly beer & alcohol! Nightmare but very amusing at the time!

Once we’d ditched Amy’s dad’s fishing trolly which he’d lovingly let her borrow we carried all our gear in the blistering heat, pitched our tents and cracked open the slow gin & prosecco. Happy days!

Friday started the afternoon off with ‘The Jam’, Alison Moyet in between and finished the evening partying with Calvin Harris.

Saturday I booked Swedish outdoor hot tubs and sauna for my boyfriend Mark’s Birthday, after two days without a shower we were the cleanest people on the Isle of Wight. Heaven.

Highlight of the evening were the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, a band I’d always wanted to see and can now tick off my list.

Sunday – After consuming several alcoholic beverages we took a pitch in front of the main stage to discover a few new music talents I’d not seen before. The best had to be a guy called ‘Passenger’, definitely an artist I’ll be keeping an eye on.

In the afternoon the red arrows flew over the main arena treating everybody to a fantastic air display, they looked like they were dancing through the sky to the music.

We also discovered the art of face painting.
