Best tattoo in the world

Now I’ve never plucked up the courage enough to have a tattoo, always wanted one but never quite got over the fact it would be such a permanent fixture. If I could take it off after a few years after I’ve grown out of it that would be great.

I read an article recently of a retired American lawyer who through his passion for travel decided to have a map of the world tattooed across his back and colours in each country as he visits it.

Bill passman didn’t even obtain his first passport until 2006 but vowed to spend 9 months of each year travelling the world so he can colour in his map. His goal is to obviously finish it and have a lasting memory of all his travel experiences.

So far he has visited 60 countries in the last eight years and his tattoo is almost 50% covered.

Bill has travelled across Europe, North America, Asia, Africa, South America, Australasia and Antarctica – but says his favourite country  so far is Guatemala.

What a fantastic idea, I’ve done the same thing with a map on the wall in my spare room as I’m sure many people have, but this I think is a much better way.

I love Bill’s passion for travel, this has definately inspired me  and I might just pluck up the courage one day.

How much of this map have you covered?
