Singapore F1 2019

As promised I’ll touch on the Singapore F1 from our recent trip last month. I wasn’t that much of a fan before i went, i did follow it a little and knew most of the drivers. After seeing the race in real life i am much more of a fan now. And Singapore is a fantastic race, especially as it is a night race.

About two week before we were due to go our pack came through the post. We had booked Empress seats. These seats were great, you could see two turns and we had the screen in front of us to see what else was going on. The tickets were lanyards to use each day. We also had a great itinerary in the pack that gave you everything you needed to know including what events were on. We didn’t realize until the tickets came through that we had access to the concerts. I was super excited as i absolutely love Muse and they were playing on the Saturday night.

The acts they put on at that race are usually some of the best and they really didn’t disappoint. We managed to catch Swedish House Mafia, Gwen Stefani and all of Muse’s Set. I had a lot of Muse videos but tried to find ones were i wasn’t singing.

The concerts usually start fairly quickly after a race so i would recommend as soon as you know the result are aren’t that bothered get yourself over to the stage to get a good view.

The grounds generally opened up from about 14.00-00.00 Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Earlier you get there the better the crowds are. The biggest crowds were at the qualifying and the main race itself. You can’t take any food in but you can take a drink if it’s in a plastic clear bottle for inspection. There were a lot of places to eat and drink if you needed too. Although very expensive but fantastic selection. I believe alcohol was about £7 a pint. There were great little play areas set up for kids too. The grounds were lovely to walk around in between events.

If the concerts aren’t your thing but you do enjoy a good DJ and some dancing there were quite a few areas set up with a bar, a dj and a dance floor.

The Singapore Race is a brilliant one and such a great atmosphere. I would highly recommend it to anyone it’s been one of the best experiences we’ve done. At Cruise.co.uk we do a few of the F1 races including the new Vietnam track for 2020 Click Here. I’ve definitely got my eye on that one but we will see.

Have you been to this race before? What do you think?
