As I sat watching the news on television last night, I had to laugh out loud at a particular item – A Presidential Pardon  for 2 turkeys from President Trump. Apparently, this is a bit of a Thanksgiving Tradition in the White House – who knew? These lucky Turkey’s then get to live out a peaceful and happy life at ” Gobbler’s Rest ” in Virginia, Heaven knows how the turkeys are chosen for this honour!

This leads me onto another American Thanksgiving Tradition that seems to get bigger every year in Britain. You know what I am talking about – Black Friday or should I say Black November, as it seems that the adverts for this started weeks ago!

Electrical stores, department stores even my local curry house has a Black Friday deal, but is it all hype? I think if you are looking for something special and know what you want then you may get a good bargain, but it is so hyped up, it puts me off!

Never ones to miss out, the cruise lines have again jumped on the Black Friday band wagon – I am not sure if  the epitome of ” Britishness “, P & O Cruises, understand that Black Friday is 23/11/2018 as they  have launched their offers 2 full days before Friday comes around, they have deals starting from £379.00 per person for a 4 night cruise on Ventura in February 2019, Fred Olsen, MSC, Royal Caribbean, Marella Cruises, APT, Celebrity to name just a few all have either discounts, upgrades, on board spend etc – you will be spoiled for choice.
