WELLINGTON - DID YOU KNOW?

There’s one image that many associate with Wellington, and that’s the city’s famous red cable car! Take this cute little car from Lambton Quay to the suburb of Kelburn at the top of the hill. You’ll be rewarded with great views, and can explore sights at the top like the Lady Norwood Rose Garden or Botanic Gardens. If you only have time to visit one attraction in Wellington, make it the Te Papa museum. This is the national museum of New Zealand, with a whopping six floors of displays and interactive exhibits to teach you more about the country’s history and culture. You’ll learn about the Maori people, viewing ancient artefacts and modern art from some of New Zealand’s top painters. Wellington’s dining scene is fresh, innovative, and delicious. You’ll find plenty of seafood eateries down by the waterfront area, but don’t miss the specialty shops that dot the downtown area. From freshly ground coffee to specialty cheeses and chocolates, there’s a lot to sample in and around the main Quay! Are you on the hunt for something new to wear? Visit Lambton Quay’s scenic Old Bank Arcade to pick up vintage clothing and trendy accessories from some of the country’s top indie designers.
