Amenities and Activities
Luxury is the aim of the game at Princess, and all facilities are designed to help you relax. There’s nothing like a good night of rest to give you the energy needed to tackle a long day of excursions, so drift away in the Princess Luxury Bed. Developed with sleep expert Dr Michael Breus, this bed design has been awarded ‘best cruise ship bed’ by Cruise Critic.
All cabins come equipped with all the basic amenities that you’d find in a luxury hotel, like a satellite flat screen TV, 100% cotton linens, complimentary toiletries and waffle bathrobes. A refrigerator and digital security features help round out the amenities on offer. If you upgrade to a suite, you can expect even more pampering with gel eye masks, free DVDs and more.
Princess caters for all ages, and with that in mind there’s plenty of activities for children and teens along with group babysitting in the evenings. Teens can mix and mingle with peers in their own formal dinner event, while pizza parties and movie nights get the little ones involved with their new friends.
Visit the adults-only Sanctuary on the top deck to unwind with soothing music, fresh beverages and light spa bites. You can book an al fresco massage in a private cabana, or visit the Lotus Spa to select from an extensive menu of treatments. From a basic mani-pedi to a detoxifying seaweed wrap, you’ll emerge feeling rejuvenated and simply gorgeous. There’s also a fitness centre on hand, with weight machines, treadmills and exercise courses. Zumba, Tai Chi and Yoga are just a few options here to boost your mood. If you prefer to enjoy the fresh air, run a few laps around the outdoor jogging track!
To keep tipping simple, Princess charges a discretionary service charge ranging from $13.50 to $15.50 per passenger per day. The exact amount will depend on your accommodation and itinerary. This can be pre-paid online so you don’t have to worry about tipping at all during your journey. There’s also a 15% service charge for Spa services and bars.
A smart casual dress code is in force for most evening events. Princess recommends that women wear smart separates or dresses, and men can wear trousers and open neck shirts. Formal nights take place on a roughly weekly schedule, giving you the chance to show your fellow passengers just how nicely you scrub up in a cocktail dress, evening gown, dark suit or tuxedo.
