New Zealand and scenery to die for.

Just lately there has been such a lot of interest in New Zealand and it made me wonder why.
One reason, of course, is the program the Cruise which seems to be just as popular as ever even without Timothy.
The ship the Regal Princess is beautiful but it’s not the only ship out there.

The amazing Ovation of the seas is out there and I have just booked a group of friends who are taking a retirement trip to Australia to see the Blue Mountains and then the cruise around New Zealand. So what is it that gets everyone really excited to see the place, I thought I would have a little read about some of the areas.

Auckland is the largest city and quite a busy bustling place, you can take a visit to see the glow worms in the Waipu caves, the kids would love that, take a trip up the sky tower or maybe an aquarium with stingrays penguins and sharks.

Dunedin takes you back to the Victorian era where you can see lots of mosaics and stained glass and that’s just in the train station. You can see the yellow-eyed penguins here as well at the Otago Peninsular, they are quite rare and how about a visit to Larnach castle, the whole area has a Scottish feel about it.

Napier has been rebuilt after a huge earthquake in the 30s, lots of art deco architecture here. There are also lots of Maori influences around as well. There is lots of stunning beauty to take in at Hawkes bay with it’s Med feel balmy weather and the views are amazing.

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to actually experience an earthquake, well in Wellington you can do just that, te Papa museum on the waterfront is the place to go for that, not sure if i fancy that somehow?

That is just a little taste of some of the things you can do, there are dozens of other ports you can visit and places like the Fjordland national park is scenery at its best and well worth a look.

Have you ever been to New Zealand, would you share your favorite port with us?
Where would you like to visit?
