Ventura July 2014

Well this was my first experience on Ventura as a fly/cruise, I really did not know what to expect from the whole experience and can tell you I was pleasantly surprised, we checked in at Birmingham at 04:00 am in the morning !! There are representatives already there from P&O to answer any questions, happily we were not going to see our luggage again until the ship, how nice, remember though, if you are on an early flight it can be 5pm in the afternoon before your hold suitcases are delivered to you cabin , so take a change in your hand luggage, even if its just a costume and sarong ! Towels are available for the pool deck in your cabin, and we were lucky enough to get our cabin by 12:30 pm.

On arrival in Genoa we were transported efficiently by coach to the ship, from landing local time at 09:00 we were sitting on deck by 10:30 having a refreshing drink, there were four flights landed at the same time and this all went very smooth, Genoa airport is very small so there was a small amount of waiting/queuing but still very efficient.

People are always asking about prices so here is a little sample from last week on board !

Our balcony (1st picture), this is on Canada deck 10 so over looks the deluxe balconies  below as you can see from the pictures, so the deck below would be deck 9. It was so nice to be able to get these and now show them when trying to explain how this looks, so much easier for you all to see !

This is the very back of Ventura “The Terrace pool” we found this spot on our second day, nice little pool, close to the tea and coffee machine, has its own bar, and two seconds to the 24 hour restaurant, not the biggest of areas so you need to be an early bird, especially on a sea day ! There are lots of other places though, we just liked this one !

Our first stop was Livorno, we did not get off here as to be honest, we just wanted to chill and get to know the ship, we also had plans to get off at Naples so just soaked up the sunshine, then we had a day at sea, this is the central pool, and there are 5 to choose from, one even has a retractable roof, as you can see above right.

Next stop was Naples, see my next post for more !!
