Adonia , is this a loss for P&O ?

Well technically, no , its not a loss as she will still form part of the fleet and remains in the family. But from April 2016 she will be based in Miami, starting with weekly sailings to the Dominican republic she will be offering these “Impact journey” experiences.

People can work alongside local communities to make a difference and maybe in a small way give something back.

adonia

I think its a great idea and will appeal to many, this has always been an adult only ship, this is changing, children will be able to travel on these adventures too ! That will be a first for the current crew, who we are led to believe are all staying on.

There will I think be a gap in the market for a small ship leaving Southampton, there is really no other choice now apart from Fred Olsen and maybe Cruise and Maritime from Tilbury. I have booked some customers many times over on the Adonia, she has always had a very loyal customer base, and I am sure many of them will be sad to see her go.

It will be interesting to see the outcome of this, hopefully she will do well in her new home.
