Shocking Images Of Concordia Interior After 2 years Underwater

It was an extremely sad and shocking time in the cruise industry.  One I’ve written about before here.

These pictures make the ordeal even more eerie.  These pictures were taken once the ship had been refloated after spending almost 2 years partially submerged off the coast of Giglio, Italy.

This first image shows what looks like the pool bar.

This is a large open space – maybe a restaurant?

The colours still seem very vibrant surrounding this staircase.

Now that Concordia has been refloated you can really see the extent of the damage caused by her being underwater for so long.

Many people comment when they’re sailing in and out of Genoa as the remains of the ship can be seen from there.  I myself have sailed past and it’s an emotional thing to see.

With Schettiono’s appeal case looming, I’m sure we’ll hear a lot more about this case in the near future.
