Rocking & Rolling To Dublin Part 1…..

I have just returned from our annual Christmas Conference.  This year we went on a 3 day cruise from Bristol to Dublin with Cruise & Maritime on the Marco Polo.

Anyone who has crossed the Irish Sea in December will know it can be a very bumpy crossing and this was no exception!  I was a casualty of sea sickness on the 1st night and there were a number of other members of staff ill on the 1st and last night.

We boarded the ship nice and early on the first day and went straight to breakfast.  There was lots of choice of hot and cold food.  So far so good!

Each day we were in the theatre where we had our conference.  This was a chance to find out what had been happening this year and what the plans are for next year.  We had lots of suppliers from different cruise lines on board who kept us informed of plans for next year.  There were competitions run by the suppliers to win lots of things from Goody Bags to Cruises and I was lucky enough to win a place on the launch of the new MSC Ship Bellissima!

The first night was our Fancy Dress Party.  I was supposed to be going as a St. Trinian’s schoolgirl but unfortunately this was the night I was very poorly so I did not make the party.

By the second day we were in Dublin so conference finished at lunch time so people could get off the ship and go on some tours.  Having been to Dublin previously I took this opportunity to take some photos of the ship whilst it was quieter.  Here are some of the ones I took…

Please look out for my next blog which will tell you all about the last two days in Dublin and sailing home.

Until next time Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
