My River Convention Experience with Riviera Travel

On Friday 17th November I flew out from Birmingham to Amsterdam to attend the CLIA 2017 River Convention.  I was selected to attend with Riviera Travel and I was so excited to experience staying on a River Cruise Ship for the first time.

On arrival at Amsterdam Airport I met up with the reps from Riviera Travel along with a few other agents from different companies.  We were then transferred to the Riviera Travel MS Emily Bronte where we were to spend the next two nights.

I was shown to my stateroom and wow it was stunning.  I was lucky enough to have a room with a French Balcony which I would definitely recommend to clients as the views would be fantastic sailing along a river.  It had everything you could need in the room including a kettle and English sockets!

We all met for dinner on the ship.  We were lucky enough to experience a gala dinner that they have once a week on board and I was very impressed.  There were about 7 courses and each course was more delicious than the next!  After eating far too much I had a drink in the bar then headed off to bed.

I was awake bright and early the next morning and had a little time to explore the ship.  In the better weather I could picture myself up on deck with a drink watching the world go by.

Then it was off to the Movenpick Hotel for the conference with the other cruise.co.uk consultants who had joined me this morning.  The conference was very interesting and we heard lots of speakers from the different river cruise lines telling us about their product so I picked up a lot of handy hints and tips and insider knowledge.  Our very own Jill won an award as well!

In the evening we were all back on board the Emily Bronte for a meal.  This time it was from the main menu and again this did not disappoint in any way.  The food was cooked to perfection and me having a sweet tooth I absolutely loved the dessert!

On the Sunday we had the chance to go and visit other river cruise ships that were in Amsterdam for the conference.  We visited the Amadeus Silver III, the Scenic Jade and CroisiEurope’s Symphonie.  These along with the Emily Bronte offer different experiences depending on what you require from a River Cruise and are all 4 and 5*.

If you have any questions about River Cruising and want to try one of these amazing experiences please contact me on 0333 300 2825 or [email protected] and I will find the perfect one for you.

Until next time Happy Cruising
