Will P&O be next to go down the All Inclusive route?

I have been asked many times, do P&O offer a drinks package? The answer is Yes, but not the kind of package most customers are after.

In the last few years we have seen the big cruise lines such as Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Norwegian Cruise Line and MSC offering passengers the choice between a free all inclusive drinks packages or to buy a drinks package and pay the supplement. On the other hand P&O only offer 20 refills of soft drinks which will save you 10% or wine packages which you will save approximate 15%, if booked in advance.

To be fair P&O’s alcohol pricing  is reasonable compared to other cruise lines and they don’t charge the ridiculous service charges on top. Passengers are also allowed to purchase alcohol on shore , bring back on the ship and enjoy in the comfort of their stateroom.

The past few years have seen a rapid increase of newcomers to the cruise market who are familiar with the All Inclusive concept & I wonder if  P&O are missing out? In my opinion P&O have become more mass market over the last few years so I’m surprised they haven’t gone down the All Inclusive route. Many people want to know what is included in their cruise price and what they need to pay extra for. In my experience the majority of people would prefer not to stick to a nightly budget during the cruise or be shocked by the bar bill at the end of the cruise.

What do you think, should P&O offer all inclusive drinks packages?
