Quantum is here!!

The UK and in particular, Southampton is privileged this morning to be waking up to find the worlds most technologically advanced cruise ship docked on our shores.

 

The highly anticipated Quantum class ship sailed into Southampton around 5pm yesterday, 29 October 2014 to spend 5 days here showcasing to the media and trade before setting sail on the maiden transatlantic voyage to New Jersey, which will be her home port for around 6 months. She will then re-position again to the far east.

 

The class of the ship is incredible and the technology will be the most advanced at sea.

 

With Quantum, everything will be smart:

Smart Check-in, the possibility to check in online and print own boarding passes alleviating long check in queues.

Smart Concierge – track from your app, dinner reservations and book onboard activities or excursions.

Smart luggage- You can track exactly where you luggage is from the moment it leaves your hands at the terminal until it reaches your cabin

Smart sustainability – Quantum will be 20% more fuel efficient and environmentally friendly than other ships.

Smart Wifi – With speeds and downloads the quickest at sea, you will never loose touch.

 

Then theres the robots, robotic bartenders will mix you your favourite cocktail from which you will order via a tablet. There will be endless possibilities of cocktails from over 30 spirit choices and soda mixers, want it shaken? not stirred, the robots will be so advanced they can even shake…stir, muddle and strain.

 

And of course, the Robo show – The most innovative entertainment technology at sea, with robototic screens intertwine with live performers to create and exhilarating show.

 

Then there are the dodgems, the first bumper cars at sea, also transforms into a roller rink.

 

* The North Star, an extending capsule which will elevate and take you out over 300 feet above sea level. Truly a wow factor.

 

* Rip cord by Ifly-  a sky diving simulator at sea!!

 

Some amazing firsts at sea!!! Her presence in Southampton is sure to wow all!!

 

Roll on Anthem’s arrival in April 2015 – the second ship in the Quantum class, where Southampton will be her home port – a chance for us all to experience Quantum Class. I for one sure will be!
