P&O Britannia “Madrina”-Godmother, it might be me!!

During November and December 2013 P&O Cruises announced that the Godmother to their new cruise ship  “Britannia” would be a travel agent. This sparked huge excitement and interest amongst the trade as what an honor it would be to take up this position. The pinnacle of anyone’s career or life for that matter, whether in the travel trade or not.  All female travel agents were required to submit an entry detailing why they would make the perfect Godmother. So without delay I submitted my entry.

Now ordinarily this is a job fit for royalty, fit for the Queen, so it gives me an enormous  amount of pleasure to announce that I have been selected as one of the finalists for this role!!

I have been invited to attend a black tie event at The Globe Travel Awards in the elite and up-market area of Mayfair London. This is the Oscars of the travel world. This is where P&O will announce the Godmother.

Having worked in the industry for just over 20 years, I never thought I would get this close to such an amazing opportunity.  So wish me luck…..and in the meantime I will be mostly shopping for an outfit for the awards and planning my speech!!
