Friday night Party night in Southampton

Daily Echo: The Duke of Edinburgh has been recuperating since June 17

Friday night down at Southampton docks will certainly be holding an event to remember with the presence of none other than The Duke of Edinburgh paying a visit.

Cunard Cruise lines QM2 will celebrate her tenth anniversary in spectacular style along with Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth. A public firework display will take place at 10pm with an amazing finale.

The Duke of Edinburgh originally named the QM2 in 2004 before she went on to become Cunards flagship.

The three ships will arrive early morning and berth allowing QM2 to sail past as 10,000 ballons are released from her top deck with Happy birthday playing.

Cunards marketing director Angus Struthers said She has attracted awards, accolades and admiration as the greatest ocean liner ever built for a decade and we intend to mark her first ten years of service in style.

What a day it will be, how do get there you say!! A public park nearby will be a great spot to the see the fireworks. Mayflower park has good views of the docks. Wish I was going!!
