Who’s got the best Chefs at sea?

2014 is going to give us a culinary collection featuring demonstrations from world- renowned chefs. What an exciting year for the food lovers!

What’s best about this is that is not going to be on 30 minute meal Shaw or Saturday kitchen, River cottage or Hell’s kitchen but some of the most popular and well known respectable cruise lines.

We all know how important is the food on board of cruise ships and celebrity chefs are at the top of the fashion with so many programs about good food, so they couldn’t be missed to be in the centre spot by cruise lines. Here’s some on the spot light:

P&O with their new Britannia launching in 2015, have set a line-up of Celebrity Chefs for their cookery club, featuring the godfather of the British cooking Marc Pierre White, Master patisser Eric Lanlard, Master of spices Atul Kochhar, favourite chef James Maritin and lastly wine connoisseur Olly Smith.

Norwegian Cruise Line with the Iron chef Geoffrey Zakarian, who launched 3 restaurants aboard Norwegian Breakaway. Number 1, Ocean Blue, serving what the line calls “beachy” seafood classics, such as roasted sea scallops, black sea bass and dover sole. Number2, Ocean Blue on the Waterfront, a more casual option serving items like lobster roll and fried calamari. Number 3, The Raw Bar, with seafood fare including oysters on the half shell and salmon tartar.

Oceania Cruises with the French Master Chef Jacques Pepin who has a restaurant on board the Marina called Jacques. The heart of the menu is the rotisserie, and turns out black-footed chicken and Provençal-style racks of veal crusted in olive tapenade.

To put the cherry on the cake, Royal Caribbean Cruise has announced they will have one of these Celebrity Chefs who will be on board the Anthem of the Seas. It will be either Gordon Ramsey, Heston Blumenthal, Hugh Fernley Whittingstall or Jamie Oliver.

 If you think how much some of these Chefs charge to dine at their restaurants, it’s makes any of the cruises a real good value for money!
