Explosive Sceneries!

stromboli

Have you even seen a Volcano in action? It’s one of the most amazing phenomenons nature has got to offer. In the distance the hot lava descending from the Volcano looks like roads of fire!

Stromboli, nicknamed the Lighthouse of the Mediterranean, is a volcano in the middle of the Tirrenian Sea of the North East Coast of Sicily, one of the eight Aeolian Islands. The volcano has been in continuous eruption for the past 2,000 years with minor eruptions often visible from many points on the islands and from the surrounding sea.

This is why P&O is very proud to announce this as One of Ten best places to see from the Sea on their table league!  This can be seen on board many 2015 itineraries that will be transiting the Tirrenian sea of the north coast of Sicily. The best time to see it is at night, so look out for those itineraries with a stop in Messina or Catania, and have a stroll on deck at night to enjoy this spectacular scenery!! In my opinion this is as exciting as the Northern lights or the Midnight sun and it’s a must see you don’t want to miss!!
