The Crown’s a great choice

I recently had the opportunity to take a week’s cruise on the Crown Princess. In previous blogs I have given a quick insight into what we got up to in the ports of call, so I wanted to give you my opinion of what I actually though of the ship.

Overall I can safely say she is a really good choice. If you are looking for a good size traditional liner that does not skimp on service and standards the Crown is the way to go. We were on board during the May Bank Holiday, there were apparently 450 children on board, you would never have known, we hardly saw one. Obviously the kids clubs worked well.

As Agents we searched as hard as we could to pick fault but I can certainly say we found it hard. Cabins were comfortable; bathrooms could have been a little more spacious as with every cruise line! Bar areas spacious, the piazza was buzzing with life, great for a light lunch before heading into port. We opted for Anytime dining which was great, we prepared ourselves for a short wait, when it was extremely busy the pager system worked really well.

The food presentation exceeded my expectations, being vegetarian there was always plenty of choice.

My only criticism would have to be the entertainment. The shows were good, nothing special, the comedians bearable but after 10:30pm the only place to be was the Wheelhouse bar with La Donna. She certainly kept us entertained for the week but it would have been nice to have a little more variety.

All in all I can definitely recommend the Crown princess for couples, families, and larger parties and have confirmed many bookings on her since returning in June.
