Did Britannia rule????

I’ve been telling passengers over the last few weeks how excited I was to be heading down to Southampton last week to finally get a sneaky peek a Britannia. Unfortunately I was more excited prior to the event as appose to during and after.

I remember returning from the launch of the Royal Princess buzzing, telling passengers whenever I had the opportunity how fantastic she was. I have to say I returned from Britannia feeling a little deflated. Don’t get me wrong she is a lovely ship, very elegantly designed I just think P&O could have taken a few more risks, pushed the boundaries a little, but in true P&O style she is very, well, P&O really.

Our cabin had everything it needed, a little on the small side I felt, and missing a bed side lamp when I returned back to it in the early hours trying not to wake up my cabin mate.

The most impressive area for me was the spa, if you like a good pampering, it’s definitely worth a visit.

The Atrium was contemporary, very relaxing, spacious….

Cookery school was smart with the most up to date kitchen appliances, if you want to really treat yourself or the other half a session in cookery club would be the perfect gift.

The food in the main dining room was excellent, the restaurant buzzing with travel agents all sharing their views on the last 2 hours manically photographing the ship from top to bottom.

I would have liked to sample dining in Limelight, combining my meal with entertainment however we could only dine in the main restaurant so I’ll have to save that till next time.

The Live lounge was a great size venue, just don’t put your drink down on the wrong area of the bar else you’ll find it will disappear through a hole and smash on the floor…..

I think I would have got a better impression had I been on a longer sailing rather than rushing round trying to see everything in a couple of hours.

I think P&O passengers will love her…..
