Get your ‘Strictly’ dancing shoes ready!

This weekend saw the battle begin on the BBC TV show “Strictly come Dancing”!

Celebrities took to the dance floor for the first time in an extravaganza of glitter and some good and some not so good performances!

I will be glued to my TV along with a good percentage of the British public for the next couple of months, to see the final outcome, not to mention the comments by Craig.

P&O have taken this craze to the next level, offering “Strictly come dancing” themed cruises with professional dancers from the show on-board. Now they have rolled out completions for passengers to enter! These completions will be on cruises of 3 nights or more.

Celebrity judge Len Goodman will announce the completion at the start of each cruise (a recorded message) and couples will be able to enter the competition, devise a routine and select their music to popular themes from the show.

The first ever TV show was in 2004 and since has got more and more popular. Dance teachers saw a massive increase in adult beginners wanting to learn famous dances from the show, Viennese waltz and the cha cha cha being most popular!

My husband has always wanted to learn how to dance to the Argentinian Tango! Little too serious for me! Giggles are not allowed and my 2 left feet could prove problematic!

So how will these completions work?

During your cruise, rehearsals will take place and then live show performances, just like the TV show. Performances will take place in the main Theatre. Better get there early if you want to watch as this is sure to be popular!

Performances will be scored by a judging panel. This will consist of the entertainment team, ship officers and maybe surprise guests!

I wonder if they will have sparkly paddles.

I would if you can enter with one of the professional dancers from the ship? Maybe this could be a suggestion.

There will also be footage from the show, some of the best and worst performances and the voice of strictly’s ‘Alan Dedicote’.  All in all it sounds like lots of fun and I am intrigued as to how it will all work.

The winners will be awarded with a mirror-ball trophy and will feature on the front page of the Horizon magazine which is distributed daily on board.

I can’t wait to hear back from customers!

Oceana and Aurora guests can experience this now and later this year every other ship will be included.

Have you been on a cruise and seen the completion? I would love to hear what you thought.

Who is your favourite judge on the show? Will you be watching?

I love Bruno Tonioli! He always make me smile!
