Construction starts on the third Quantum class ship.

Royal Caribbean must be confident with the new design of the Quantum class ships as construction commenced this week on the third ship! And why shouldn’t they be confident? The ships look totally amazing. The innovations take cruising to another level!

Dancing Roboscreens and robotic bartenders are just a couple of features to look forward to. I think both venues will be very popular. My advice would be to book early so you don’t miss out.

You can also skydive in the RipCord by iFly! I would be first on! Some friends of mine had a similar experience in a wind tunnel in Manchester, it looks brilliant! I wonder if you can fly as part of a group.

So what else can you look forward to?

The North Star is a pod at the end of a large arm which transports guests more than 300 feet above the ocean and over the side of the ship. Take a look. The views will be spectacular!

Sea-Plex is an indoor sports complex with bumper cars and roller skating. I will be watching on with a hot dog! Far too strenuous for me!

The fact that all these activities are included in the all-inclusive fare makes cruising with Royal Caribbean extremely good value.

Dynamic dining is another new experience! Taking freedom dining to another level! The concept sounds easy, dine in any restaurant at any time. If you want a formal night you can dine in the formal restaurant same with all the other venues. It’s your choice. I hope it’s well thought out! With 18 dining options there is plenty of choice however I strongly recommend planning a few nights before you travel.

The third ship will be called Ovation of the seas and due to commence sailings in October/ November 2016. No other details have been announced so far, so watch this space for itineraries.

Quantum of the seas, the first ship in this new class which launches in November 2014 sailing from New York and then out of Shanghai for the winter season.

Sales have been really strong for the second ship in this class, Anthem of the seas which sails out of Southampton for summer to the Mediterranean. The current campaign is one of the reasons for the popularity with all-inclusive drinks package and free tips included in the price. It is a brilliant time to book with such amazing offers, but if you are still to decide on your perfect itinerary, you have to be quick because this offer finishes at the end of this month.

All ships will be 167,000 tons with just over 4000 passengers which is significantly smaller than the Oasis class ships. Big isn’t always better!

What do you think of this new class of ship?

Do you like the sound of the funky innovations?

Would you be 1st on the ifly or the North Star?

I would love to hear your thoughts
